tidbits & scraps

my life. my art.

most recent pages

This pages includes the words to the song Girl Scouts Together, some pics of my troop through the years, and all my troop numbers.

My daughter Rebekah is named after my long time friend, Rebekah.

This pic is my cat Skoke, surrounded by some sort of concoction my son Timothy made. Yum!

This one I came up with as a combination of 2 challenges…

down and dirty for the scrapdragons challenge

and the layout for pencil lines.

challenge

I signed up for a challenge to make 50 scrapbook layouts without buying any new supplies. This has really challenged me, even in the first 10 pages, to rethink the supplies I have and how to use them. It has been so fun so far. Thanks to the girls at We Scrap Better. Here are some more new layouts.

My husband Kelly with Rebekah just before Christmas 2007. She was only about 2 months old

Who put this flower on my head?

A day last spring when it snow and then became quite warm. Warm enough to build a sand, I mean snow, castle in our front yard.

Four New Layouts

This is my baby girl and my grandma. I tried a new technique on the photo edges.

This is my son standing on a gravestone that says “mother.” It was accidental but it spoke to me somehow afterwards.

Please pray for my friend.

Timothy started 1st grade this year. The pencil cup has new things he will get to do. spelling tests, taking books home from the library, book reports.

My friend…Rebekah

When I was little I had a bosom friend who lived down the street.  Her name was Rebekah.  I hadn’t seen her in 14 years or so.  I saw her the weekend of my wedding.  Here are the pics, finally.

Here she is with her namesake, my beautiful daughter Rebekah.  They had so much fun playing together.

More Wedding Weekend Pics

Getting ready in the hotel.  It had 2 bathrooms.  One with the toilet and a sink.  The other with the shower and a sink and make-up mirror.  This is where I got ready so as not to encounter my groom too early.  I did my hair with lots of bobby pins and little screw-in crystal flowers from Claire’s.

Isn’t she an angel all in white from the Gap and on the down pillows and comforter?  She’s my angel even in dirty clothes and crying. :)

Or when she sleeps through the entire wedding ceremony.  Better than needing a bottle and a diaper change in the middle.

You know what this is.

These are the stair up into the Shakespeare Garden.

married!

The wedding was wonderful and I am now Julie Lynn Wasson. We stayed at Flatotel on 52nd. I highly recommend it. We were married on July 4 in the Shakespeare garden in Central Park NYC.

After the ceremony at Belvedere Castle.

Totally Pathetic

so, I am totally pathetic. I haven’t written in almost a month. I have been up to many things…

I hosted mother’s day breakfast at my house for 12 people, mom, stepdad, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, 2 cousins, my self, Kelly, Timothy, Rebekah. It actually went well. I had to be up at 6:30 since they wanted to leave to go home to PA asap. I got the recipes from Martha Stewart and they were fabulous. Layered Spring Omelet and Oven Roasted Home Fries. How is it that I can despise yet love Martha at the same time?

We took my grandparents out to dinner on Sat the 10th for their 60th anniversary. It’s hard to imagine any two people being together that long and being happy. Sunday would have been my 6th anniversary. Hopefully Kelly and I will be together for 60 years. Of course that would make him 101. :)

Rebekah has her 2 middle bottom teeth now. And she is rolling over within the last couple of days.

More Spring Break

We have also been now to the Sandbox Playground in Fairport NY.  This place is great.  They have all the toys that are too big to have at your own house.  Even Rebekah enjoyed herself!

Then we went to Lollypop Farm Humane Society in Fairport.  He loves to look at the dogs and cats and bunnies, etc.  My family has always gotten our pets from lollypop…5 dogs and 2 cats total.

Then we went to Mud About You in Penfield.  This is one of those paint your own ceramics places.  I have taken Timothy to another one (Color Me Mine) for his last 2 birthdays.  This time we tried this new one and we won’t go anywhere else from now on.  They had very similar pieces and paints and everything.  There is no studio fee so right off the bat you are saving up to $10 per person.  They also have glass fusing and mosaics you can do.  Timothy painted a fighter plane and I painted a bud vase for all the flowers I know he will pick this summer.
