tidbits & scraps

my life. my art.

over the river and through the woods…

…to grandmother’s house we go.  or went.  Earlier this week.  Shannon stayed with us to play with the kids.  She was great!  She brought bubbles, water balloons, coloring books, new crayons for Timothy, games, little animal toys to play with, she took the kids to the park, swam with one while I swam with the other, watched movies…I love you cuz!

Grandma and poppop took us to Sizerville Park to swim, play on the playground, and have a picnic lunch.

We played with Uncle Duffy’s dog too.

the house on Clover St.

3458 Clover St. to be exact. the house my dad grew up in with his 2 brothers and 1 sister.  i have been waiting 30 years to see this house and it is actually up for sale!  no, i’m not buying it.  In five years I might though if I get the chance.  we went to the open house and it was incredible.   Sorry dad, your room is pink

This little 10×12 ? room was my uncle Bill’s.  I guess when you’re #4 you get what’s left.  His closet was the linen closet in the hallway.

next room along the hallway is Uncle Dan’s.

this was Grandma and Grandpa’s room.  What size bed did they have in here?

P5170063

The last bedroom down the hall and around the corner.  My dad’s.  Sorry it’s pink now, dad.  Tidbit: under this lovely pink carpet there is a secret compartment in the floor where my dad used to keep his magazines of the sort I refuse to mention.  Wonder if anything is left in it…

P5170062

Don’t forget the bathroom that all 6 people shared.  What color was this before?

White Flag

Great song...

I know you think that I shouldn't still love you or tell you that
But if I didn't say it
Well I'd still have felt it
Where's the sense in that
I promise I'm not trying to make your life harder
Or return to where we were

But I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I know I left too much mess and destruction to come back again
And I caused nothing but trouble
I understand if you can't talk to me again
And if you live by the rules of it's over
Then I'm sure that that makes sense

But I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

And when we meet
Which I'm sure we will
All I was then will be there still
I'll let it pass and hold my tongue
And you will think that I've moved on

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

I will go down with this ship
And I won't put my hands up and surrender
There will be no white flag above my door
I'm in love and always will be

Sitting Still

This is the first time I have been sitting still for too long. I threw out my back or something and I am sitting in the living room with a heating pad on it. Thank God for my husband (who went out to get the heating pad last night) and for wireless internet.
