maple sugaring day

yesterday kelly and timothy and i went to cumming nature center near naples, ny to learn about maple sugaring. the demonstration was great. we got to try drilling holes in stumps, pounding in the spouts, we saw them boiling the sap, we tasted syrup. then when we got back to the center and ate pancakes and sausage with real maple syrup. the lessons were great for timothy and the time for us as a family was great. here are some of my better shots from the day.
